  • Parents play a key role in preventing and responding to bullying. If you know or suspect that your child is involved in bullying, there are several resources that may help.

    • Recognize the warning signs that your child is involved in bullying. They could be being bullied, bullying others, or witnessing bullying.  Although these signs could signal other issues, you should talk to your child if they display any sort of behavioral or emotional changes.  Many times kids won’t ask for help, so it is important to know what to look for. Innovation Day 2014

  • Hello CMS Families,

The California Department of Education (CDE) is currently engaged in litigation with two non-profit associations comprised of parents and guardians of children with disabilities. The plaintiffs in that litigation have requested numerous documents, as well as student data collected and stored by CDE, which may include personally identifiable student information.

Please understand that OUR district is not a party to the litigation and is not required to disclose any student information, nor do we intend to do so.

To comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act ("FERPA"), CDE has been ordered, among other things, to inform parents and students of the disclosure of such information. CDE has requested that school districts post a link to the CDE website that provides information about the case.  FSUSD has a webpage (http://www.fsusd.org/courtcase) with information about the case and the links to the state website. We have also added it as a Quick Link on the main FSUSD page.

We wanted to make certain you were aware of the case and of the link on our website. We will continue to update the District's and CMS's page as new information becomes available.
