In March 2013, Suisun Valley School applied to Target for a grant to help fund our Fine Arts Program. In August,
we found out that we won the grant! This $2000 Arts, Culture and Design in Schools Target Grant will help
purchase art supplies and fund curriculum for the 2013-2014 school year. We are very grateful to Target for
this generous gift! THANK YOU TARGET!

Suisun Valley School Garden Summer Sign Ups

Hello Dragon Familes,
With students and teachers away for the summer, our school garden still needs care. We are looking for one family per week (or feel free to share a week with another family) to help water and watch over our garden. Any produce ready for picking can be taken home as your reward.
Please ignore the time associated with sign ups for weekly watering. Families may go when convenient. We are asking for your contact number in case of an emergency.
Families are invited to a "Watering Orientation" held on Monday, June 9th @ 3:00 pm by Mrs. Klein.
We also have a very special partnership with Genentech! A group of volunteers will be coming to our school on June 17th and 20th from 9:00-2:00pm to build a shade structure and raised vegetable beds for our students.
Please bring gloves, power drills, gardening tools and re-useable water bottles. If you are staying through lunch please bring your own lunch.
We appreciate your support and enthusiasm for our school garden.

Hello Suisun Dragons! I would like to provide you with an update on our field. We are still trying to find a source for enough soil. We found one locally in December that passed environmentally. Unfortunately, the soil had so much clay included in it that we ended up rejecting it. The piles that are out there are from that source. We were informed that a large amount of soil amendments still would not be conducive  to growing grass. The City of Fairfield has been searching for us as well as the District. If you have any other questions or concerns please contact me at the school at 421-4338 or by email. Thank you and have a good evening.

Please keep track of lunch charges on your child’s account. If you are unsure of the balance on your child’s card please contact Cheryl Brown here in our cafeteria. Have a great evening and see you tomorrow!

I am so excited to let you know that our Academic Performance Index (API) for 2012 is 949!! We went up 34 points from 2011!! I am so proud of our staff and students!!  ---Principal Wright
