We highly encourage our student in grades 3rd-8th grade to bring their own devices to school (BYOD). One of the main concerns that parents have is, what if the device breaks while the student has it at school? Check out our district website http://www.fsusd.org/Page/8943 for information regarding where you can purchase reasonably priced insurance for student devices. For example if the device is worth $250, insurance for the year is roughly $30.
On the district website there are suggestions as well, as what to type of device to buy for your child, if you are interested in doing so. Information regarding FSUSD Options for Student Mobile Devices can be found at:http://www.fsusd.org/Page/8943
Finally, here is a website with information about digital safety for parents and students: https://www.commonsensemedia.o
