Dr. Melissa Farrar has worked with the District since October of 2011 when she was hired as the Assistant Principal at the Fairfield-Suisun Adult School. Dr. Farrar has served the District in several other capacities including Principal at H. Glenn Richardson School and most recently as the Assistant Director of Professional Development and Educational Technology.
In her role as the Assistant Director of Professional Development and Educational Technology, Dr. Farrar has been able to help advance the use of technology across the District. Dr. Farrar also works closely with the District's Consulting Teachers and Support Teachers. Her work has been a significant factor in retaining teachers, and in building their capacity to deliver relevant instruction in the classrooms. Dr. Farrar has also been instrumental in the delivery of professional development, in order to meet the needs of teachers and staff.
Dr. Farrar earned her Doctor of Education Degree with a major in Oganizational Leadership and her Master of Science Degree in School Counseling from the University of La Verne. She obtained her Administrative Services Credential from the University of San Diego and her Single Subject Teaching Credential from California State University, Sacramento.
Given her success in her previous positions, and her dedication to the students of Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District, we are excited to announce that Dr. Melissa Farrar has been appointed as the Director of Curriculum and Assessment. Dr. Farrar will continue to move the District forward with respect to technology, continuous and relevant professional development, and through collaboration with all teachers and staff throughout the District.
