Meet your Assistant Principal
Mr. Henry Wong first joined the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District in August 2005 and remained at Cleo Gordon Elementary for 10 years of service teaching at the district. Prior to joining FSUSD, Mr. Wong began his teaching career in 1998 for the Oakland Unified School District, where he taught for close to 7 years. Mr. Wong also served as a Consultant for OUSD, where he developed and coordinated after school programs for transitional students, while directing a staff of Americorps participants in tutoring and mentoring students.

“Mr. Wong creates a “healthy competition” for other members at his grade level. He has made a significant impact on student learning. He communicates learning goals with students on a regular basis and uses School City with students to show their progress. Mr. Wong is well-respected by staff and students alike and goes the “extra step” to help others and ensure an open line of communication with parents.”
Mr. Wong believes in collaboration and is committed to student improvement, and has continuously looked beyond the walls of the classroom for innovative ways to work with students. He is known for his strength to communicate on a regular basis with parents and ease their concerns with constructive guidance to ensure student success. Parents have noted that they respect Mr. Wong due to his regular communication and ability to de-escalate student situations.
Mr. Wong is committed to student improvement and has demonstrated his leadership abilities in his current role as Assistant Principal at Sheldon Academy of Innovative Learning. He has served as a technology leader in the past, and will work to bring more innovative methods to the classroom for teachers at Sheldon.
Mr. Wong earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History at San Jose State University, and holds a multiple subject teaching credential and a preliminary Administrative Services Credential.
