• Development Impact Fees

    On January 1, 1987, AB 2926 (Chapter 887) was enacted which requires that school districts pay a share of the cost of school construction based on the square footage of residential, commercial and industrial construction taking place within their districts.  The law commissions school districts to levy a Developer Impact Fee for this purpose, establishes the maximum rate of the fees, and prohibits building permit authorities from issuing building permits without certification from the school district that fee requirements have been met.


    Current development impact fee rates:

    Residential Rate per square foot*
    (effective from 9/15/17 to 8/23/18)


    Commercial/Industrial per square foot
    (effective from 9/15/17 to 8/23/18) 


    *additions less than 500 square feet are exempt from this fee

    How and Where Do I Pay My Fees?
    Please complete the following 3 steps prior to coming to our office.

    Step 1 
    Obtain a stamped form or official documentation from the city or county agency office showing verification of the square footage of each plan.   Below are sample forms for each agency:

    Step 2 
    Complete the District Payment Form: 
    Step 3
    Call the Facilities & Construction Department at (707) 399-5148 to setup an appointment. 
    Bring the District Payment Form, the city or county verification documents, and fees to the Facilities Department at the District Office.  Fees must be paid in the form of EXACT cash, a check, a money order, or cashier's check.
