• Criteria for Leadership Position

    Sergeant


    • Must display a positive and respectful attitude as outlined in our Six Pillars of Character.

    • Must maintain a 2.0 GPA with no D’s or F’s.

    • May not be on LOP (loss of privileges).

    • Personal appearance and uniform must meet PSA standards.

    • Have no more than six demerits within a semester.

    • Instructor and higher ranking officer recommendations may be considered.



    Duties


    • Each Sergeant will be issued a green shoulder cord and assigned a squad.

    • Each Sergeant is responsible for lining up his/her squad and insuring that each squad member is in their assigned spot with their gear properly stowed.

    • Each Sergeant will do very brief inspection of each squad members uniform to ensure that each cadet in compliance with PSA standards.

    • Any issues are to be reported to the Class Lieutenant.



    Disqualification


    • Being placed on LOP shall result in removal from the position.

    • Three demerits shall result in removal from the position.

    • Any discipline referrals may result in removal from the position.

    • Any actions or behaviors deemed unbecoming a PSA Cadet may result in removal from the position.



    Lieutenant


    • Must display a positive and respectful attitude as outlined in our Six Pillars of Character.

    • Must maintain a 2.0 GPA with no D’s or F’s.

    • May not be on LOP (loss of privileges).

    • Personal appearance and uniform must meet PSA standards.

    • Have no more than six demerits within a semester.

    • Instructor and higher ranking officer recommendations may be considered.

    • Each candidate will have held the position of Sergeant for at least six weeks.

    • Interested cadets must submit a memo of interest requesting consideration for the position.

    • All eligible cadets are subject to an interview.

    • Must be able to demonstrate all drill movements and commands as they pertain to morning and afternoon formation.


    Duties


    • Each Lieutenant will be issued a red shoulder cord.

    • Each Lieutenant will be assigned a class within his/her grade that will include a minimum of four squads.

    • Each Lieutenant will oversee the Sergeants and any cadets in his/her class to ensure that each squad is prepared for formation.

    • Any issues are to be documented and reported to the Captain in charge of that grade. All documentation will be turned over to the Cadet Training Officer for review.

    • Each Lieutenant will assist in the monitoring of hallways during passing period to ensure that the hallways are quiet and orderly. Inappropriate behavior will be documented. All documentation will be turned over to the Cadet Training Officer for review.

    • Each Lieutenant will assist in maintaining order in the classroom when there is a substitute instructor. The Lieutenant will relinquish this position if a higher ranking officer is present.

    Captain



    • Must display a positive and respectful attitude as outlined in our Six Pillars of Character.

    • Must maintain a 2.0 GPA with no D’s or F’s.

    • May not be on LOP (loss of privileges).

    • Personal appearance and uniform must meet PSA standards.

    • Have no more than six demerits within a semester.

    • Instructor and higher ranking officer recommendations may be considered.

    • Each candidate will have held the position of Lieutenant for at least six weeks.

    • Interested cadets must submit a memo of interest requesting consideration for the position.

    • All eligible cadets are subject to an interview.

    • Must be able to demonstrate all drill movements and commands as they pertain to morning and afternoon formation.


    Duties


    • Each Captain will be issued a yellow shoulder cord.

    • Each Captain  will be assigned several classes to oversee.

    • Each Captain will oversee the Lieutenants, Sergeants and all cadets in his/her classes to ensure that each class is prepared for formation.

    • Any issues are to be documented and reported to the Commander. All documentation will be turned over to the Cadet Training Officer for review.

    • Each Captain will assist in the monitoring of hallways during passing period to ensure that the hallways are quiet and orderly. Inappropriate behavior will be documented. All documentation will be turned over to the Cadet Training Officer for review.

    • Each Captain will assist in maintaining order in the classroom when there is a substitute instructor. The Captain will relinquish this position if the Commander is present.

    • Captains will monitor and keep track of any leadership changes below their rank.

    • In the event of the Commander being absent or relieved of duty, a Captain will perform the Commander’s duties.  


    Disqualification

    • Any actions or behaviors deemed unbecoming a PSA Cadet may result in removal from the position.



    Commander

    • Must maintain a 2.0 GPA with no D’s or F’s.

    • May not be on LOP (loss of privileges).

    • Personal appearance and uniform must meet PSA standards.

    • Have no more than six demerits within a semester.

    • Instructor recommendations may be considered.

    • Each candidate will have held the position of Captain for at least six weeks.

    • Interested cadets must submit a memo of interest requesting consideration for the position.

    • All eligible cadets are subject to an interview.

    • Must be able to demonstrate all drill movements and commands as they pertain to morning and afternoon formation.


    Duties


    • The Commander will be issued a gold shoulder cord.

    • The Commander will give all commands for morning and afternoon formation.

    • The Commander will work with the Captains, Lieutenants and Sergeants to ensure that each class is prepared for formation.Any issues are to be documented and reported to the Principal or the Cadet Training Officer. All documentation will be turned over to the Cadet Training Officer for review.

    • The Commander will assist in the monitoring of hallways during passing period to ensure that the hallways are quiet and orderly. Inappropriate behavior will be documented. All documentation will be turned over to the Cadet Training Officer for review.

    • The Commander will assist in maintaining order in the classroom when there is a substitute instructor.
