The AHS Library building and all facilities within will be closed during the week of December 16–20, 2024. The library will be closed before school, at lunch, after school, and during class periods.

AHS Library Vision

The AHS Library is dedicated to fostering knowledge and literacy by providing free, equitable access to information and a vast array of ideas that inspire students to pursue their dreams. As a student-centered space, we cultivate a welcoming environment where all students can connect, create, read, and discover their infinite potential.

Our library serves as a safe and supportive haven for research and study, designed to meet the diverse needs of our student body. To maintain a conducive atmosphere, we encourage all users to adhere to basic principles of good behavior. Our library rules are established to help everyone understand and meet the expectations of a respectful and productive school setting.

Kaitlyn Hernandez – Teacher Librarian

As a teacher librarian, my responsibilities include curating and organizing resources, teaching information literacy skills, and fostering a love of reading. I collaborate with teachers to enhance the curriculum, manage library collections, and promote digital literacy. Additionally, I support Aeries student account setup to ensure seamless access to resources.

As a library technician, my responsibilities include assisting with the organization and management of library resources, supporting patrons with inquiries, and maintaining circulation systems. I collaborate with Librarian and school site to ensure effective access to materials and contribute to the overall library experience for students and staff.

Libraries use fines to encourage the timely return of materials, ensuring that all students have access to the resources they need. When items are returned in good condition , fines are removed.

Damaged materials will be assessed a fine if necessary. All materials students currently have checked out from the library and textbook room can be seen on their Destiny account.
