Chromebook Tips

Please try these steps first

--- Clear out ALL extensions that are not school related ---

Go to your Chrome - 3 dots upper right - more tools - extensions -

delete anything not school related. (games/backgrounds)

--- Clear out your internet browser ---

Go to your Chrome - 3 dots upper right - more tools - clear browsing - ALL TIME- clear browsing

--- Reset your Settings ---

Go to your Chrome - 3 dots upper right - Advanced on left - reset settings -

click restore settings then click reset

If you have a special background, remove it

If you have a special cursor, remove it

Anything "added" to your Chromebook that is NOT school related, slows it down

Do this Weekly

Do NOT do this while working on something...

You will need to "RESTART" your Chromebook.

Update your Device

Go to your Chrome - 3 dots upper right - settings - About Chrome on left side - (Blue) Chrome OS Settings - "Check for Updates" - when done click “RESTART”

WIFI Troubleshooting Tips

Depends on what wifi you have and how many people are using it. Please call the Vice Principal, Mrs Lee if you are still having problems with wifi.

Take an Internet Speed Test

You should read from 85% to 100% - if not please call your server

-- You may need to move closer to the router

or open doors or remove large obstacles to the signal.

-- When possible, reduce the number of devices using your WIFI

network during your class

-- Those sharing the WIFI during your class time should refrain from

streaming video or doing large file uploads/downloads

-- If you have both a 2.4 Ghz and a 5.0 Ghz band of your home WIFI network,

try the other one (the 2.4Gz band has a longer range,

but the 5Gz band can be faster).

-- If you have a sibling who is streaming or other intensive use,

collaborate to make sure you are on different bands.

You may need to restart the router (let others know, as the signal will be lost)
