The Public Services Industry sector provides a foundation for students interested in being involved in their community and serving the public's interest. Careers in this sector often attract people who want to help their fellow citizens and make improvements tot he community they serve.
Students can enroll in the following pathways:
Public Safety (PSA)
The Public Safety pathway prepares students with a broad-based foundational knowledge in careers that involve public safety. Students will gain experience on the evolving integration of state public safety organizations, their connections with federal and state intelligence and security agencies, interoperability and coordination of effort, and the shared mission to protect the public in a post 9/11 world are areas of emphasis for the pathway.
Emergency Services (PSA)
The Emergency Response Pathway provides students with decision making information about careers in Emergency Response careers or to pursue advanced skill training in Emergency Services. Course content includes classroom instruction, hands-on training and community experience. This content is designed to provide students with an understanding of the variety of agencies, employment opportunities, and necessary skill requirements in the many careers within Emergency Services. Information included will be in the field of fire and emergency operations, disaster response, emergency operations, safety, leadership, community outreach, and response techniques.
Public Safety occupations include:

Criminal Lawyer - $84 per hour*
Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics - $18 per hour*
Industrial-Organizational Psychologists - $58 per hour*

Emergency Managements Directors - $56 per hour*
