Assistant Principal to take the helm at Grange

Constance_Huntington   Ms. Constance Huntington initially joined the Fairfield-Suisun       Unified School District in August of 2010 as a science instructor     at Rodriguez High School.  Ms. Huntington’s work ethic,     combined   with her educational and leadership skills, were     quickly noticed     and she was offered the opportunity to serve     as Co-Department     Chair for the RHS Science Department. 

  This co-curricular position provided her with an opportunity to     participate in the administrative side of education and further her       administrative knowledge and skills.    Ms. Huntington’s     experiences in classroom observations, development and     monitoring of budgets, as well as direct involvement in     curriculum development and implementation provided her with   the   foundation to be successful as a site administrator.

  In 2015, Ms. Huntington joined the administrative team at     Grange Middle School where she has blossomed. At Grange she     has worked collaboratively with the Administrative team in     planning and facilitating staff meetings, supporting all new  

teachers, building a student needs based Master Schedule, promoted Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies (PBIS),  community outreach and never ending classroom visits.

Below is an excerpt from Assistant Director Harrison:

"Connie has taken on a variety of leadership roles at Grange Middle School that have contributed positively to the overall school program, including coaching and evaluating teachers, training and overseeing all campus monitors, and organizing and facilitating staff meetings and bi-weekly “Pep Talk” times to support and retain new teachers. Additionally she led POD cycles for the science department, developed new systems for attendance and reinforcing positive behavior, and collaborating with teachers and administrators for PBIS. Connie has demonstrated a commitment to supporting all aspects of achievement by aligning each task or improvement action to the shared school vision by the school’s stakeholders of a high quality learning environment for all students."

Ms. Huntington completed her Bachelor of Science in General Biology from California State University, Long Beach. She earned her Single Subject Teaching credential at Fortune School of Education and her Master of Art Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at University of Pacific in Stockton. Additionally Ms. Huntington was awarded the Knowles Science Teaching Fellowship.
