Sem Yeto Welcomes New Assistant Principal
Ms. Larissa Sherrod began her career with FSUSD as a Special Education Teacher at Amy Blanc in July 2005. She was appointed as Coordinator of Special Education in December 2017 and has served in that capacity for the last two years. Prior to her appointment as Coordinator of Special Education, Larissa worked as a Program Specialist for the Special Education Department. With fourteen (14) years of experience as an Elementary School Special Education Teacher, Program Specialist, and most recently as a Coordinator of Special Education, she is skilled in curriculum planning, behavior management, and teacher mentoring.
Below is an excerpt from one of Ms. Sherrod’s letters of recommendation, written by Dr. Melissa Farrar, Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment:
Ms. Sherrod makes herself available to all staff members she works with to ensure they have the support needed when they are working at their own school sites. She makes frequent classroom visits and provides on-the-ground coaching and support to teachers and administrators with a focus on Special Education. She actively seeks out opportunities to work collaboratively with other staff members and she is always willing to help. She is a self-starter with a strong focus toward student-centered teaching.
Larissa Sherrod is a natural leader and her innovative approach comes from a solid educational foundation. Her vision and passion for students is infectious! It is my pleasure to offer my highest recommendation.
Ms. Sherrod received her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies from California State University, Sacramento and a Mild/Moderate Educational Specialist Credential at Sonoma State University. She recently completed her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration Credential at Brandman University.
The Fairfield-Suisun Management Team is elated to announce Ms. Sherrod as the Assistant Principal at Sem Yeto High School.
