Meet Your FSUSD Staff
Dr. Cassidy Busch joins FSUSD after spending a year living in Baja California Sur. Dr. Busch brings with her exceptional knowledge and experience in the Mental Health field. She recently was employed by WestCoast Children’s Clinic (WCC), located in Oakland, CA. During her employment with WCC, she served as a Screening, Stabilization, and Transition Clinician, where she provided psychological assessments, crisis based interventions, and community-based psychotherapy to children and adolescents. Since 2011, Dr. Busch has served in the capacity of providing psychotherapy to youth and families with Building Futures with Women and Children, PARTNERS Program, Safe and Sound, and the Ann Martin Center.
Having worked in a variety of clinical settings, Dr. Busch is most excited about school based work because of her ability to provide a range of services. She believes that she works best in collaboration with others, and she truly values the opportunity to work as a team in order to meet students’ needs. One aspect of the position that she looks forward to is exploring how topics such as social media, bullying, self-image, and learning differences, among others, impact students, and the possibility of implementing trainings on these types of issues.
Below is an excerpt from one of Dr. Busch’s letters of recommendation, written by Emily Harris, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist in private practice:
“Cassidy has the ability to think about the complexity of clinical work. In discussions of cases and other clinical material she demonstrated the capacity for understanding, empathy and making reflective comments and interpretations without judgment. Cassidy is a gifted clinician who has continually taken the initiative to learn more. I believe she will be an outstanding addition to your program because she is one of the most outstanding interns I have ever supervised. Her strengths, both personally and professionally, will be assets to staff and students.”
Dr. Busch received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, with minors in Women and Gender Studies and Cultural Anthropology from the University of California, Davis in 2007. She received her Doctor of Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in 2016.
