Lisa Yee and Commanding General

Fairfield, CA - On Monday, November 14, 2022, Fairfield High School welcomed Major General Michael Talley, the Commanding General and Commandant of the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence.  Major General Talley gave a presentation to students from the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) and Patient Care CTE pathway.

Major General Talley’s presentation discussed the many opportunities available to students in the medical field both in and out of military service. His presentation included information on educational and professional opportunities offered by the military such as their highly-ranked Master of Science programs.

Having attended high school in Fairfield, Major General Talley was able to connect with the students on a personal level. He discussed how his career path led him to his current position at the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence. After his presentation, Major General Talley answered questions from the students and provided additional guidance on different programs offered by the military.

During the presentation, Major General Talley presented Fairfield High College and Career Technician, Lisa Yee, a Challenge Coin. Being awarded a Challenge Coin is a great honor as they symbolize commitment and morale while recognizing the recipient for their contributions.

“It has been a distinct honor to work with the Fairfield Army Recruiting office for the past eight years!” stated Lisa Yee. “I greatly appreciate all they have done in terms of setting my enlisted students up for success with their chosen career pathways. My sincere thanks to Major General Talley!”
