As students are given computing devices by schools or parents to use at home, parents often wonder how they can filter Internet use at home like schools typically do. The best way to do this is to setup filtering at the front of your home network, rather than on the computing device itself.  Filtering from the front of a home network gives the parent a single point of control for all of the computing devices in the house, and makes it more difficult for any one person to disable the filtering.

Best of all, through a service called OpenDNS, Internet filtering on your home network is free!
