FAIRFIELD, CA - Dan O. Root II Health and Wellness Academy hosted a Math Festival on February 16, 2023, providing students with a hands-on approach to learning math and giving parents and families the opportunity to see what their children are learning in the classroom.
During the school day, students participated in a variety of math-focused activities at different stations. Each station was designed to promote problem-solving skills and was tailored to the level of the students. The activities included games, puzzles, and other interactive experiences that made learning math fun and engaging.
In the evening, the Math Festival family night provided an outreach opportunity for families to get involved in their child's education. The family night allowed everyone to participate, regardless of age or math ability, and was designed to be a fun and educational experience for all. The family night activities allowed parents and families to gain a better understanding of the skills needed for their children to be successful in math.
"We are thrilled to have hosted such a successful Math Festival," said Principal Larissa Sherrod. "It was an opportunity for our students to have fun while learning math, and for parents and families to see the incredible work that our teachers are doing to help our students excel."
