Fairfield, CA - The Rodriguez High School wrestling team has reason to celebrate this season.  They finished as the 2nd-best team in the Monticello Empire League and qualified for the Sac-Joaquin Section (SJS) Section Duals. This achievement marks the first time the team has made it to the SJS Section Duals since 2018.

The Mustangs completed the season with an impressive 5-2 record and saw a significant increase in the number of SJS Masters qualifiers, with four members of the team, Samuel Goodwin, Gilberto Rodriguez, Munther Saleh, and Deven Lakhan all earning their place in the competition. The RHS wrestling team also had a standout performance from Eliza Goodwin, who qualified for the California Interscholastic Federation State Meet and finished in the top twelve.

"We're incredibly proud of our wrestlers and their amazing performance this season," said Coach Brandon Thein An Vu. "They've worked tirelessly to improve their technique, conditioning, and mental toughness, and their hard work has truly paid off."
