Students in a workshop

Fairfield, CA - On February 5th and 6th, 8th-grade students from Crystal Middle School embarked on an enlightening journey to Solano Community College to explore the various career options available to them. The interactive tours allowed students to delve into the fields of cosmetology, welding, and robotics, gaining valuable insights into potential career pathways.

During the visit, students received comprehensive presentations highlighting the opportunities  available in each program. From cosmetology to welding and robotics, each session provided students with an overview of the application process, class credits, and the assurance of a clear pathway upon completion of the program.

The tours aimed to expose students to diverse career opportunities and equip them with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about their future educational and career paths. By engaging with professionals in each field and experiencing first hand demonstrations, students gained a deeper understanding of the skills and opportunities available in these industries.

These tours are invaluable opportunities for our 8th graders to explore potential career paths and gain insight into the educational opportunities offered at Solano Community College," said Assistant Principal Samantha Coughran.
