Fairfield, CA - The Public Safety Academy (PSA) recently hosted a Careers In Public Safety Fair, providing students in grades 7-12 with an immersive opportunity to explore diverse career paths within the realm of public safety.

The fair featured representatives from various sectors, including Solano County Court, Court Reporting and Interpreting services, Crime Scene Investigation (CSI), California Highway Patrol (CHP), Yolo County Dispatch, Solano Sheriff and Animal Control, Fairfield Police Department, Probation, and more. Held in the PSA gym during first through third periods, the event enabled each grade level to rotate among stations, engaging with professionals, asking questions, and gaining firsthand insights into the skills, education requirements, and daily realities of different public safety careers.

This initiative was instrumental in broadening students' perspectives on public safety professions. While law enforcement and firefighting are often the focal points, the fair highlighted lesser-known but equally vital roles within the field. By connecting with industry experts, PSA cadets had the opportunity to network with potential future employers, bridging classroom learning with real-world experiences.

Community partners praised the event's success, emphasizing the enthusiasm and engagement of PSA cadets. One partner remarked, "The Career Fair was a huge success. The Cadets were engaged, and the community partners enjoyed engaging with them too. PSA is such a special and unique school community. This event opened up a new avenue for our Cadets to pursue, which is what learning and education is all about!"
