Fairfield, CA -The Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District Governing Board is pleased to announce Jennifer Sachs as the new superintendent of the district. After a comprehensive selection process, the Board unanimously agreed on Ms. Sachs' appointment during their March 28, 2024, Board Meeting. Ms. Sachs will assume her new role May 1, 2024, pending contract negotiations and Board approval at the April 18, 2024, Regular Governing Board meeting.
The selection process for the new superintendent was inclusive and thorough, involving staff, parents, students and various community partners. An online survey was also made available, ensuring that everyone had a voice in the selection process. Jennifer Sachs emerged as the Board's unanimous choice from a pool of highly qualified candidates. Her extensive experience and commitment to educational excellence were pivotal in her selection.
Ms. Jennifer Sachs brings to the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District an impressive 28-year career in public education. Her journey began as an instructional aide, evolving over the years to include roles such as classroom teacher, Title I Coordinator, Curriculum Specialist, Principal, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and most recently, Chief of Educational Services at the Mt. Diablo Unified School District. In her most recent role, Ms. Sachs supported over 28,500 students and 55 schools and programs from preschool through 12th grade, including an adult school and two charter schools.
Ms. Sachs is a proud ACSA Region 6 Officer and has shared her expertise as a presenter at both the college level and professional conferences throughout California. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Education from UC Davis. She acquired her Administrative Credential and Master of Science degrees in Educational Leadership at California State University East Bay.
