Fairfield, CA - On Thursday, April 11, 2024, Mary Bird Early Childhood Education Center delighted families and guests with its third annual "The World is a Rainbow" performance as part of the Week of the Young Child celebration. The Week of the Young Child, sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), is a joyous week dedicated to celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers, families, and communities.

Dressed in a kaleidoscope of colors representing the hues of the rainbow, students from all classes at Mary Bird Early Childhood Education Center sang and signed the lyrics to "The World is a Rainbow." The students' families were invited to attend the performance, adding to the event's festive atmosphere.

Anna Mansker, Principal of Mary Bird Early Childhood Education Center, commented on the event saying, "The Week of the Young Child™ celebration at Mary Bird Early Childhood Education Center was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the talents and creativity of our young learners. It was heartwarming to see our students and their families come together to celebrate the joy of learning and early childhood education."

The Week of the Young Child™ celebration at Mary Bird Early Childhood Education Center spanned from April 8th to April 11th, 2024, and featured a variety of engaging activities aimed at promoting early learning and fostering family engagement. Students participated in musical performances, art projects, and parent engagement gatherings throughout the week.

These activities not only provided opportunities for creative expression and learning but also reinforced the importance of early childhood education in nurturing children's development. Moreover, they helped cultivate a strong sense of community among students, parents, and district staff.
