Fairfield, CA - The Fairfield Unified School District (FSUSD) is thrilled to report significant progress on the construction of the new Performing Arts Center (PAC) at Fairfield High School (FHS). This state-of-the-art facility, made possible by the generous funding of Measure J, is poised to become a beacon of creativity and community engagement. Anticipated for completion in Fall 2024, the PAC project exemplifies FSUSD's commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and enriching the lives of students and residents across our district.
The FHS PAC project, spanning 35,000 square feet, is well underway and promises to be a transformative addition to the school's facilities. Once completed, the PAC will offer seating for almost 500 spectators, along with an entry lobby, a full catwalk system, a control room, classroom space, and an orchestra pit. These features are designed to enhance the performing arts experience for students and community members alike.
Reflecting on the significance of the new Performing Arts Center, Brian K. Swetland, Director of Music at FHS, expressed enthusiasm for the opportunities it will provide students and the community. "I am very excited for our students to have an opportunity to perform their music in our Performing Arts Centers," said Swetland. "The listening and playing environment will allow all of their hard work and practice to be heard in a space that accentuates and enhances the experience."
The FHS PAC project is just one of several exciting initiatives underway within FSUSD. Other projects include the B. Gale Wilson Middle School Gymnasium with changing rooms, K.I. Jones Elementary School kitchen expansion, and Armijo High School restroom building and concession stand. Recently completed projects include the new Career Technical Education (CTE) classroom at FHS, one of which houses the new Scene Shop.
As progress continues on the PAC project and other transformative initiatives, FSUSD remains dedicated to fostering a vibrant learning environment and enriching the cultural fabric of our community. With each milestone achieved, we move closer to realizing our vision of providing exceptional educational resources and opportunities for all students in our district.
