More than 70 students, families and staff connected beyond the virtual classroom
Fairfield, CA (January 21, 2026) – Although virtual by design, Virtual Academy of Fairfield-Suisun continues to prioritize meaningful, in-person engagement for their learning community. On January 15, 2026, the school welcomed more than 70 students, families, and staff to the Joseph Nelson Community Center for a high-energy Sami’s Circuit family fitness event.
The gym was filled with joy, positivity, and inspiration as Sami led participants through an engaging workout circuit designed for all ages and fitness levels. Students and families moved, laughed, and encouraged one another throughout the session, creating an atmosphere of meaningful connection and community. Staff members also took part, working out right alongside students and their families. Their presence reinforced the school’s commitment to modeling healthy habits, building relationships, and fostering a strong sense of belonging beyond the virtual classroom.
“Events like Sami’s Circuit reflect our dedication to supporting the whole child and strengthening school-family partnerships,” said Virtual Academy of Fairfield-Suisun’s Principal, Colleen Hutchinson. “While instruction takes place online, the school intentionally creates opportunities for students and families to connect in person through enriching, community-based experiences.”

This year marks Sami’s sixth year partnering with the school, where he is proudly recognized as an honorary member of the Virtual Academy community. In addition to in-person events, Sami supports students throughout the year through weekly virtual Sami’s Circuit fitness videos, which promote positive mental health alongside physical health and fitness. His energy, encouragement, and genuine connection with students and families not only make it a highly anticipated experience, but everyone is happy when it’s a “Sami’s Circuit” day!
