The site now has new signage that will benefit the community for years to come

Fairfield, CA (October 7, 2026) – Early College High School (ECHS) senior Cooper Love recently completed an Eagle Scout project that will make it easier for students, families, and visitors to find their way around the school located on the Solano Community College campus – while leaving a lasting mark on the school community.

A member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 8853, Cooper designed and installed new signage for Early College High as part of his journey toward earning the prestigious Eagle Scout rank. The project was inspired by Cooper’s desire to provide clear, welcoming signage for the ECHS community.

The project took six months to plan and three months to complete. Cooper coordinated the work with the help of 20 volunteer Scouts, and Home Depot generously donated the materials needed for the project. The new ECHS sign is currently positioned in front of the 300 Building, with additional elements to be added as Cooper completes the project.

“Cooper’s project is a wonderful example of what it means to take pride in your school and give back to your community,” said ECHS Principal John Pizzo. “He saw a need on our campus and took the initiative to create something that will benefit students, families, and visitors for years to come.”

“Cooper’s initiative and dedication reflect the very best of Fairfield-Suisun Unified,”  said FSUSD Superintendent Jennifer Sachs. “By taking action to make Early College High School more welcoming and accessible, he has demonstrated that when our students step up to serve, the entire community benefits.”

Cooper’s project is a meaningful example of the difference students can make when they see an opportunity to improve their community.  As he completes the final requirements for his Eagle Scout rank, Cooper’s efforts will remain as a visible reminder of the importance of service and giving back.
