Fairfield, CA (January 8, 2026)  – B. Gale Wilson Middle made history on December 16, 2025, by hosting its first-ever whole school rally and assembly in the school’s brand-new gymnasium. The celebration brought students and staff together to honor the “ROAR” (Respect, Organization, Attitude, Responsibility) Award winning students, recognize winter sports athletes, and mark the successful culmination of the semester.

“This assembly was more than a celebration—it was a powerful moment of connection and pride for students and staff,” said Superintendent Jennifer Sachs. “Knowing that our scholars can come together in this new space reflects exactly why our community’s investment in modern, high-quality facilities matters.”

The energy in the gym was undeniable. The school’s cheer team debuted their very first performance, igniting school spirit and excitement across the crowd. The PTO added to the fun by providing Wildcat pep rally gear, and just when students thought the celebration was over – staff surprised everyone with an epic flash mob, sending cheers through the gym!

“For our students, this was a moment they’ll remember for years to come,” said Principal Mirel Rivera. “Hosting our first whole school assembly in this beautiful new gym showed our Wildcats what’s possible when a community comes together to support them, and it creates opportunities for joy, belonging, and school spirit that last far beyond one event.”

The December assembly built on the momentum of the October ribbon-cutting ceremony, which officially opened the new gym as a lasting investment in the future of FSUSD students and the entire B. Gale Wilson community. Designed with student wellness in mind, the gym features modern amenities including bleachers, a spacious lobby, storage areas, and new changing rooms and lockers. These updated facilities – made possible through the continued support of community-approved bonds – ensure students have safe, engaging spaces to learn, grow, and thrive.

Way to go, Wildcats!
