PSA is proud to celebrate another successful year of the Work Ready Certification Program—a powerful initiative helping students build the confidence and skills they need to succeed in the workforce and beyond.
The program, held in the PSA library and led by Mr. Rodney Fisher from the Solano County Office of Education (SCOE), welcomed more than 20 cadets in grades 10 through 12 who dedicated three weeks of their after school time to participate. The sessions offered hands-on coaching in essential job-readiness skills, including resume writing, crafting standout cover letters, and preparing for interviews—all in a fun and supportive environment.
“This is always one of my favorite programs to coordinate and offer to our students,” said Danica Matthews, the College and Career Technician supporting PSA students. “Mr. Rodney is such a relatable person and works well with them.” Students echoed that sentiment, saying they had fun, learned valuable skills, and were glad they took part. For many, the experience marked an important step toward their future careers and college goals.
Mr. Fisher shared, “Collaborating with the students, staff, and the school community has made this one of the most remarkable and rewarding Work Ready experiences I've ever had.”
The Work Ready Certification Program not only equips students with practical tools for the job market—it also builds self-esteem and prepares them to make meaningful contributions to their community. Fairfield-Suisun Unified and PSA are sincerely thankful to SCOE for their support and partnership to make this important initiative possible.
Congratulations to the PSA cadets on this important achievement!
